Neil Davis got Quote of the Week at Alaska Report from his article on Senator Hollis French's health care bill (SB 160) in the most recent issue of the Republic. I sent Dennis Zaki a copy of the article; Neil's work on the finances of the medical industry is important, and legislators and Congresspeople need to understand that just shuffling around the insurance coverage isn't going to solve the problems in our healthcare system. The insurance IS the problem. Or rather, the for-profit approach to paying for health care. It just inflates the cost and increases the effort and time involved.
Canada was able to switch over to a single-payer system back in 1984; we should be able to do the same.
