The proofs for Mired came in today, around 1ish. I wasn't able to look at them until about 2:30 because Jean Lester and I were discussing the contract for Jorgy and the role of a publisher (lotsa marketing, business stuff, print and publication coordination, the design eye, etc.)
The proofs are digital blues, meaning they show placement and basic quality of images. The cover is a color proof, so it shows the resolution, etc. I'm working with Thomson-Shore; they do excellent work, and are easy to work with. It's going to be a nice book. And a valuable one.
The panic level is slowly abating; I'm getting things done, and have accepted that what doesn't get done before I go--well, it just won't get done. I'll do it later!
